Dear Geographer

As always, thank you for supporting Geography in Australia through your involvement in the Institute of Australian Geographers.

Membership fees are the single largest income stream into the Institute and are reinvested into providing services to members including: reduced IAG conference registration, study group funding, postgraduate travel, and support for the journal and conference.  Maintaining membership numbers, especially among geographers with academic positions, is also vital to the IAG’s role as the discipline’s chief advocate in higher education.

Now is a good time to renew your membership so that you can receive the substantial discount on your registration for the 2018 Auckland Conference.

In 2017 the IAG invested in a new website to improve the member experience and to increase the range of services members can access.  At www.iag.org.au you can log in to your member account, review your membership status, edit your personal profile, join up to three Study Groups, participate in general and study group online forums, create an entry in the publically searchable Member Directory, read the latest news and find out more about the Institute activities and history. Importantly, you can also pay membership dues at the click of a button through a secure payment gateway.

If you have not logged into the site yet, it is easy.  All past IAG members have a default account in the website. If you have not yet accessed your account, use the following default settings: USERNAME: Your email address. PASSWORD: Your First Name_Surname (e.g., Joanne_Bloggs). Username and passwords are case sensitive. Please change your password once logged in. The IAG also welcomes new members. You can join by clicking on Membership on the homepage of www.iag.org.au.    Please email members@iag.org.au if you have any queries or need any help in accessing your member account or renewing your membership.
