Call for Sessions for IAG 2025 is now open

Dear Geographers,

Please note that the Call for Sessions for IAG 2025 is now open!

The Call for Sessions for this year’s IAG Conference is currently open. The conference theme is Emergent Geographies.  We are at a point in time where we must urgently address global challenges such as climate change, transition, biodiversity, the rights of nature, urbanisation, sustainability, the importance of Indigenous knowledge, and human-environment interactions.  Emergent geographies acknowledges the ways these challenges arise out of complex interactions and behaviours that require greater emphasis on interdisciplinary thinking and approaches. Emergent geographies allow us to interrogate both the fledgling ideas and the burning passions that make the study of all things geographic an exciting prospect for all of us.

We welcome sessions that address these issues directly or address other emergent issues for geographical research.  We welcome sessions proposed by Institute of Australian Geographers Study Group Convenors as well as sessions proposed by geographical colleagues from Australia and internationally, and colleagues from cognate disciplines.  Sessions may take the form of presented papers, panels, practitioner forums or workshops.

Please send your Session Proposals to the Conference Chair Associate Professor Meg Sherval
